Sustainable transit.

Opened in 2012 at a cost of $419 million, the 23-acre Consolidated Rental Car Facility at SEA transformed airport logistics, relieving terminal congestion and significantly reducing emissions.

LEED Silver Certified

Built with specialized materials to reduce the heat island effect, advanced lighting control systems, and water-efficient landscaping.

3.2M Bus Trips Reduced

Consolidating individual rental agency shuttles into one unified fleet eliminated over 3.2 million daily vehicle miles and drastically reduced carbon output.

23-Acre Campus

A five-story operating structure providing 2.1 million square feet of space for maintenance, washing, fueling, and housing 5,400 parking stalls.

A Milestone in Airport Infrastructure

Prior to May 2012, passengers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport had to navigate highly congested curbsides to catch individual shuttles to dispersed rental car lots. The Port of Seattle's visionary Consolidated Rental Car Facility changed the paradigm.

Situated on a massive 23-acre plot parallel to SR 99, this five-story engineering marvel centralized operations for all major rental brands. Supported by 29 custom-designed, environmentally friendly Gillig BRT buses running on compressed natural gas (CNG), the new operation moves passengers every 5 minutes.

Sustainable Focus

With the integration of a 500-kilowatt solar panel array on the roof, and state-of-the-art water recycling for vehicle washes, the facility achievedLEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
